Volunteering
Volunteering is critical to the success of our school, both physically and in building a sense of community. Every family is expected to contribute their talents and time to fundraising, community, or classroom endeavors with a minimum of 10 school service hours (15 hours if more than one child is enrolled and half time for a mid year enrollment).
If you would like to volunteer but are unsure of how you can help, email us an email, and we will let you know what projects we are currently working on.

School Service
Don't have time to volunteer? A per-hour payment of $10/hr will charged at the end of the school year for families who have not reached this minimum level. Please use the School Service Hours Time Sheet to track your hours. School service time sheets should be submitted by May 1st.
The children love to see parents sharing their time and skills with their daily community. No task or skill is too small. We have a place for all parent skills at our school. Examples of service hour opportunities include (but are not limited to) picking up books from the library, weeding garden beds, repairing furniture, sharing a musical skill with a class, volunteering at an event, joining a class on a weekly hike and providing lunch for teachers. We love seeing your skills and ideas!

Mead Montessori School is located in South Knoxville near Ijams Nature Center. We follow the lead of Dr. Maria Montessori, a pioneer in child development. We serve children 15 months (toddler), primary (preschool and kindergarten), elementary and middle school (through 8th grade). Please contact us and schedule a school tour.
